A 5-STAR VALENTINE'S DAY

Trying to figure out how to celebrate Valentine's Day in Berlin can be overwhelming.
In a city that never sleeps, madness grows on you over time, and trying to find a quiet
space to escape and dedicate yourself to love is not always easy. We have been here
for over three years now, and our best option has always been to pretend for a day that
we were somewhere fabulous, even if we were just staying in, spending the night
glued to the TV watching romantic movies with Ryan Gosling. However; this year we
were lucky enough to escape cheesy films, as we were invited for a romantic getaway
at the newly-opened Hotel am Steinplatz in Charlottenburg. It sure felt weird to pack
our bags and go on a short holiday in our own city, but it was all worth it, and by far
one of the best Valentine's Day ever! All about it, after the 'Read more' break.

Charlottenburg might not be one of the first districts that comes to mind
when you think of Berlin, but it should be. It's actually a very nice residential
area, just a five-minute walk from Berlin's famous shopping street Ku'damm,
and a wonderful spot and hang-out for young creatives. The Hotel am Steinplatz,
located right in front of the University of Arts, is a gorgeous 5-star Hotel
that has been recently reopened in a building that dates back to the 19th century.
Our time there has been lovely for many reasons; not only was the stuff incredibly
nice and the food super delicious, but the hotel itself is just too beautiful, from the
whimsical and modern design of the room, to the comfy bed and sauna on the
last floor. Definitely the best hotel experience in a very long time!

Hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day too, and that love kept you
warm in these cold winter nights. Wish you all a good start in the new week!
